Connecting Principles and Standards: 21CSLA Guiding Principles, QPLS, and CPSEL

Abstract:

As a member of the State of California’s System of Support, the 21st Century School Leadership Academy is charged with building “the capacity of educational leaders statewide through professional learning aligned to the California Professional Standards for Education Leaders (CPSEL) and the Quality Professional Learning Standards (QPLS).” The 21CSLA Guiding Principles align with both CPSEL and QPLS; together they form the organizational framework for prioritizing professional learning goals based upon local need, developing research-based interventions targeting these specific goals, evaluating the program’s effectiveness, and strategically implementing ongoing learning opportunities to extend and sustain the impact of professional learning.
