Since its inception in 2020, 21CSLA (21st Century California School Leadership Academy) has embraced digitally mediated learning (an instructional technology approach designed to facilitate equitable learning opportunities) as a tool to both expand access to its professional learning offerings to educators across California and develop the digital literacy of California educational leaders. 21CSLA’s approach to digitally mediated instruction embraces a comprehensive design model that leverages the relevant research in both educational leadership development and online learning. 21CSLA has demonstrated its commitment to transformational change through an equity-focused continuous improvement model of professional learning.
This Guidance Document provides an overview of 21CSLA’s integrated approach to digitally mediated learning, describes the relevant research informing this approach, and includes examples of how 21CSLA is leveraging key strategies in both the State Center and Regional Academy domains.
